Want to be slapped around with some sausage ;-) ?

A burglar who broke into a home just east of Fresno rubbed food seasoning over the body of one of two men as they slept in their rooms and then used an 8-inch sausage to whack the other man on the face and head before running out of the house, Fresno County sheriff's deputies said Saturday.

Lt. Ian Burrimond, describing the crime as one of the strangest he's ever heard of, said a suspect was found hiding in a nearby field a few minutes later and taken into custody on suspicion of residential robbery.

Deputies, he said, had no problem linking the suspect to the crime.

Antonio Vasquez Jr.

"It seems the guy ran out of the house wearing only a T-shirt, boxer shorts and socks, leaving behind his wallet with his ID," Burrimond said.

Arrested was Antonio Vasquez Jr., 21, of Fresno.

Burrimond said deputies headed to the victims' home in the 300 block of South Thompson Avenue near Kings Canyon Road shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday regarding a burglary in progress.

The victims, both farmworkers, told deputies they were awakened by a stranger applying "Pappy's Seasoning" to one of them and striking the other with a sausage.

Both the spices and the sausage, Burrimond said, reportedly were obtained from the victims' kitchen.

After the man fled, the victims discovered the home had been ransacked and that some money was taken, Burrimond said.

Burrimond said the money was recovered, but that the piece of sausage used in the attack was discarded by the suspect and eaten by a dog.

"That's right, the dog ate the weapon," Burrimond said.

"I tell you, this was one weird case."

Deputies shock man with stun gun at SeaWorld

Willoughby Mariano | Sentinel Staff Writer

2:28 PM EDT, April 29, 2009

A sweaty, shirtless man on LSD was shot with a stun gun several times after trying to enter SeaWorld Orlando without paying, according to an Orange County sheriff's report released Wednesday.

Nicholas Casanova, 23, of Miami, wielded a more than 30-inch-wide recycling bin cover as a shield and repeatedly shouted "never, never!" during a scuffle with deputies about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Minutes before the scuffle, Deputy Christopher Barrette, a uniformed, off-duty deputy, spotted Casanova trying to enter the park without paying. He was shirtless, which is a violation of park rules, and sweated profusely, the report states.

Barrette approached him, and Casanova left. He re-entered about 5 minutes later and exited, and the deputy approached again. Casanova ignored him, so the deputy touched him on his right arm.

Casanova broke away, beginning the scuffle that would land him in the Orange County Jail.

Worried Casanova would act violently against nearby park guests, the deputy tackled him, and a security guard sat on his legs. Casanova broke free, and Barrette shocked him with a stun gun.

"Never," Casanova said.

Barrette shot him again.

"Never," Casanova repeated. Barrette fired once more.

"OK, OK," Casanova replied.

But when Barrette tried to handcuff him, Casanova fought, and Barrette received a minor cut from the handcuff.

Casanova made his way to a bench near a recycling can as Barrette shocked him repeatedly, then grabbed the can's lid and swung it at the deputy. Afterward, he ran to a rope fence and tried to jump into a nearby water feature.

Deputies used the rope to restrain Casanova. He was taken to Dr. P. Philips Hospital, where tests showed he had LSD in his bloodstream.

Casanova faces counts of battery on a law-enforcement officer, battery on a security officer, resisting an officer with violence, disorderly conduct, aggravated assault on a law-enforcement officer, and assault on a licensed uniformed security officer.

I say hooray for an officer that noticed this person may be a serious endangerment to innocent people inside the park. he did the right thing!

Another newspapers version of the events

00:09 Aug 20 2009

Shamu and friends sure mean business when someone tries to invade their turf without paying the cover charge. Last week, a “sweaty, shirtless” man tried to make his way into SeaWorld in Orlando while fully strung out on LSD.

Apparently seduced by thoughts of the big whale and plain enticed by the idea of experiencing sea life while tripping, he made his way onto the compound and was caught last Tuesday using the top to a recycling bin as a makeshift shield.

Thanks to the vigilance of an off-duty officer who saw what this guy was trying to do, the ardent Shamu fan was spotted and tackled. The restored peace at Sea World lasted but a minute as even with a park employee sitting on the offender’s legs, he managed to break free. That’s when Shamu called in the use of force, and the perpetrator was shocked several times with the dreaded stun gun.

LSD being a hallucinogenic drug, the perpetrator was probably more focused on kaleidoscopic visions of tropical fish than the electric jolts running through his body, as he again escaped and tried to flee into a nearby water feature. Finally, because in the end water and electricity never mix well, the guy was restrained with some rope before heading to the hospital.

Needless to say, he’s in big trouble and faces multiple counts of bad guy stuff, like intent to harm a marine animal, if that's a valid charge. As we’ve said many times before and now have to reiterate: don’t mess with the animals.

This dude was seriously off his rockers!

Glad it was him going down and not an innocent by stander or a animal should he have entered an enclosed area and been attacked by one of the marine sea animals kept there.
